A native app that streamlines the apartment-search process in big cities by directly connecting real-estate agents and apartment seekers using well-informed ads, prompt communication options, VR tours, and scannable search results.
Unique Features: API VR, Process digitization, Two end-users
The process of finding a suitable apartment in a big city has become long and frustrating. This has resulted in the continuous rise in competition per apartment, Facebook groups that offer limited details with too many comments, and “good” apartments only passing between friends.
Time-consuming
Spending too much time and effort
Inefficient communication
With the landlord / outgoing tenant
Compromising
On apartment quality or budget
At the end of the day, users feel like they have a second job in “Finding my next apartment” while the real estate agents can provide their services more efficiently and reach a broader audience.
My research included the most popular accommodation apps based on professional ratings, Facebook groups, and VR tours. In my design, I've used related conventions to boost user's learning curves, such as map view, list view, detailed ads, and managing user's favorites.
I have sat for some meaningful interviews with apartment seekers. I was curious about their challenges and how they solved them. Their decision-making, their questions, what platforms they used, what helped them, and what could’ve helped make the process faster and easier.
“I knew exactly what I was looking for and primarily used Facebook groups. It was difficult to evaluate and discern whether the potential apartments met my needs.”
“I defined an area, budget, my must-haves, and started my search. It took me two months to find an apartment as the pics didn’t reflect reality, and I wasn’t able to see apartments during daylight hours because of my work.”

The search starts with a pre-established list of criteria - I used the common questions that the user needs to answer as part of the onboarding process.
By upgrading conventions, personal matching, tracking, and adding notes/photos after seeing apartments.
Modify all communication
online such as schedule a visit, ask a question, check the agent’s properties list, and get offers according to your preferences.
Real problem-solving must take into account the new reality in which we live; COVID-19 has changed the way we communicate. I’ve found that some features, like VR, are crucial for situations in which you can't physically visit an apartment.
More than 75% of the customers searching for a property mentioned that they prefer a VR tour rather than visiting the property in person, and that this had influenced their decision. By integrating with a platform such as eyespy360, you can give both the apartment seekers and real-estate agents an upgraded experience.
